This is the perfect recipe for our signature blend Rama Masala. Simple and cooked slow and low, the three hours cooking time allows the full flavour of the beef cheeks to mature to absolute Indian magnificence. Beautifully garlicky, spicy and melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness this is the ultimate dinner party go to. Finished with a pilaf, herbs and yoghurt, going back for seconds is non-negotiable. Pair with any Asian lager.

Ingredients

4 Beef cheeks
50g Silk Road Spice co. Rama Masala spice blend
2 Tbsp Ghee
2 onions sliced
5 cloves garlic chopped
1 Tbsp fresh ginger grated
2 tins tomato Puree
Salt to taste
½ bunch fresh coriander
4 tblsp natural yoghurt
Basmati rice

Method

Lightly toast spice blend. 

Heat ghee in a pan, add sliced onions, garlic, ginger and tomato puree 

Pan fry beef cheeks with salt until nicely browned

Place all remaining ingredients in a casserole dish covered for the first 2 hours in the oven at 170

Finish uncovered in oven for a further hour … or until very tender

Serve with pilaf, fresh herbs and yoghurt
